    Russia exports some 100,000 tonnes of stolen Ukrainian grain to Syria

    Russia has already exported to Syria about 100,000 tonnes of wheat stolen from Ukraine since a full-scale invasion.

    This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Beirut in a comment to Reuters.

    According to the embassy, ​​one batch was brought by the Matros Pozynych ship flying a Russian flag.

    According to Refinitiv financial firm, the ship was loaded with grain in occupied Sevastopol. The Matros Pozynych had a departure date of May 19, and the port of unloading in Syria. Satellite images of May 29 showed that the ship was moored in Latakia, Syria’s main port.

    According to the embassy, ​​grain brought by the Matros Pozynych was stolen from Ukrainian silos in the occupied areas. In total, more than 100,000 tonnes of looted Ukrainian wheat have arrived in Syria in the last three months. At world wheat prices above $ 400 per tonne, the batch costs more than $40 million.
