The monks from the Holy Mount Athos have thanked Metropolitan Simeon for the joint prayer and hospitable reception.
The corresponding entry on behalf of the delegation was made in the book of distinguished guests by Hieromonk Luke of the Xenophon Monastery, who wrote on parchment the text of the Tomos of the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. That’s according to the website of the Vinnytsia-Bar Eparchy.
“We came from St. Athos from the monasteries of Pantocrator and Xenophon and we feel that this is God’s providence that Lord created the Church of Ukraine and stopped the schism that plagued the faithful. On Holy Mount Athos we pray for peace, love, and all the best for the Church of Ukraine,” wrote Archimandrite Gabriel, Abbot of the Pantokrator monastery, as well as Hieromonk Luke, Hieromonk Nikitos, and Hierodeacon Theodosios.
They also thanked the Ukrainian side for the hospitality and friendly reception, arranged by Metropolitan Simeon, who stood at the origins of the OCU and “has gone through great difficulties along the way.”
The monks of Mount Athos expressed their gratitude to him to this end.
