Today, November 12, Pope Francis greeted a group of monks of the Basilian Order of St. Josaphat and Ukrainian pilgrims in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.<\/p>\n

Ukrainians came to Rome to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Josaphat.<\/p>\n

“I warmly welcome the pilgrimage of the Ukrainian faithful and Basilian monks, I see here and there Ukrainian flags that have arrived from different countries to mark the fourth century of the martyrdom of St. Josaphat. Together with you, I pray for peace in your suffering country,” the Pope said and then turned to all who listened to him: “Brothers and sisters, let’s not forget about the martyred Ukraine, let’s not forget about it!”<\/p>\n
