On September 25, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine officially became the 115th member of the Conference of European Churches \u2013 an ecumenical platform for the cooperation of the Orthodox, Protestant Anglican, and Old Catholic Churches of Europe.<\/p>\n
Metropolitan Yevstratiy Zoria of the Bila Tserkva reported this on his Facebook<\/a> page with a link to the Ceceurope.org<\/a> website.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the spirit of solidarity that we welcome the Orthodox Church of Ukraine,\u201d said CEC General Secretary Dr J\u00f8rgen Skov S\u00f8rensen. \u201cSuch a step not only manifests commitment of the European churches in realising peace in Ukraine, but also the significance of joining hands with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters in Christ, so they may lead us in our common vocation for just peace.\u201d<\/p>\n S\u00f8rensen went on to say, \u201cThe legacy of CEC is to promote peace and reconciliation.
