The Left and Alternative for Germany abstained.<\/p>\n<p>President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Bundestag members for the historic decision to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as the genocide of the Ukrainian people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Germany recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide. I thank the members of the Bundestag for this historic decision. Truth always wins,&#8221; Zelensky posted on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, also thanked the Bundestag for this decision.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Holodomor of 1932-1933 was genocide. I thank the Bundestag \u2013 this is historical justice recognized by the world.
