The Russian Orthodox Church and Russian &#8220;writer&#8221; Zakhar Prilyepin received the largest grant of those allocated by the Russian government as part of the &#8220;aid to Donbas&#8221;. It is about almost RUB 115 million.<\/p>\n<p>Ilya Chukalyn, head of the Presidential Grants Fund, spoke of this in a comment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vedomosti.ru\/society\/articles\/2022\/10\/03\/943529-samie-krupnie-granti-rpts-i-prilepinu\">Vidomosti<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is noted that a total of two billion rubles worth of grants was allocated to 493 non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Organizations subordinate to the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as projects of the co-chairman of the Just Russia for Truth party, Zakhar Prilepin, received the largest sums.<\/p>\n<p>Grants were distributed as follows:<\/p>\n<p>The initiative &#8220;Comprehensive medical and social assistance to the residents of Donbas and Ukraine&#8221;, which was proposed by the Central Clinical Hospital of Saint Alexius Metropolitan of Moscow (49.8 million rubles);<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Church Aid to Refugees&#8221; project of the Department of Church Charity and Social Service of the Russian Orthodox Church (27.4 million rubles);<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Humconvoy Zakhar Prilepin&#8221; \u2013 humanitarian aid to residents of the &#8220;LPR-DPR&#8221; (22.8 million rubles); and<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stronghold of Donbas&#8221;, which was supposed to help the residents of the then-captured Izium (14.9 million rubles).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was through the Russian Orthodox Church that the Russification of the population in the Ukrainian regions occupied by the ruscists was to take place.
