    Romania shuts down Russian Center of Science and Culture in Bucharest over misinformation

    The Romanian authorities announced that they were closing the Russian Center of Science and Culture because the latter distorts historical facts.

    This was reported by The Romania Journal.

    “…involved in actions regarding the distorted presentation of reality and historical truth of Romanian public opinion <…>. By its actions, the Center irreparably deviated from the goals of strengthening cultural ties, turned into a tool of propaganda, disinformation, and justification of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation in Ukraine,” the Romanian authorities said in a statement.

    Russian Ambassador Valery Kuzmin was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania for a report.

    The Secretary of State for Strategic Affairs of Romania conveyed the Romanian side’s strong disapproval of Russia’s constant attempts at hybrid attacks and disinformation through deliberate manipulation of reality, and also called on the latter to abandon such practices.
