“Conscience called me”: ROC priest explains why he deployed to Ukraine to support Russian invaders

Father Nikifor of Russia’s Krasnodar area has revealed what drove him to go into Ukraine to support the Russian invasion forces.

“Conscience called me. I thought: why did I take monastic vows? Two people from my village went to Ukraine. I thought: who will help them there? How will my congregation be there without me? Cossacks came from our area. After all, they also need feeding (spiritual guidance),” he said in an interview with the Russian media.

He came to the hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Grigory of Katerynodar and Kuban to ask for his blessing on his deployment to Ukraine.

The Metropolitan of the Russian Orthodox Church asked: “Are you ready to go there?” I answered: “Probably, I don’t know.” I prayed all Holy Week, served the Easter service, and left the next day,” said the “spiritual mentor” of the Ruscists.

The cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church says that he performs the role of a deputy, and when the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated the deputy chief of staff, he was appointed to this position by order of the commander.

According to the priest of the Moscow Patriarchate, there has long been a need to negotiate with the Ukrainians but so far there is no such possibility.

“They look like us, they are educated. They think in the same way, they try to earn for their food in the same way. We even ate the same food at school during the USSR times. We enter the Zaporizhia region to spend the night in some house, and there are curtains hanging there, the same I had when I was a kid, the carpet’s also from my childhood years,” the minister says.

Meanwhile, Russian troops killed more than 350 children, thousands of civilians, and destroyed entire cities, but at the same time they continue to lie about the “liberation” of Ukraine from the Nazis. The priests of the Russian Orthodox Church go to the war zone in Ukraine so that the occupiers will more willingly believe the lies told by Moscow propagandists.

It should be recalled that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already eliminated three priests of the Russian Orthodox Church who crossed in to support the occupiers in the ongoing war. Earlier, the Spiritual Front of Ukraine reported on the deputy mufti, who had been liquidated in Ukraine.
