After February 24, Ukrainian became the main marker of identity, so the language front should be strengthened as much as possible.
Taras Kremin, Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, addressed the issue on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
“Everyone who communicates in the Ukrainian language, everyone who is engaged in its popularization, opening language courses, developing support programs and effectively implementing regional language policy, are fighters of the language front who are bringing victory closer,” Taras Kremin emphasized.
According to the Commissioner, local authorities should in every possible way contribute to the emergence of new opportunities for the fixation of the Ukrainian language in all spheres. “The local authorities are obliged to create better opportunities for different categories of people: whether they are schoolchildren, or civil servants, or internally displaced persons. This issue is especially acute on the eve of the new school year, when tens of thousands of internally displaced children from the south and east, having found themselves in the west of the country by the will of circumstances, go to new schools,” said Taras Kremin.
