Georgian Archbishop Spiridon keeps promoting pro-Russian propaganda

The hierarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Spiridon of Abkhazia (Abuladze), pursues a pro-active Russian propaganda campaign.

Spiridon has recently called for prayers for reconciliation between the warring parties, saying that Ukrainians and Russians are allegedly “one people.”

“Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus will unite in Greater Russia. And there will be one tsar. Let’s pray that they will be reconciled and peace will prevail. As for the Georgians, we should not interfere in the issue. We should not take anyone’s side – this is my personal opinion. Because they are brothers and now they are fighting each other. We must pray to the Lord for peace and for these two peoples, who are one people, one ethnic group, to be reconciled and united. There is a bloody war of brothers ongoing, so what we’re supposed to do is not interfere. We should pray,” said the hierarch of the GOC, according to Formulanews.ge.

He also previously echoed the theses promoted by Moscow Patriarch Cyril (Gundyaev), in particular, assuring that since the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine, the country has turned into a one big “gay parade.”

He literally branded President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky “gay activist.”

It should be recalled that the Georgian Orthodox Church has collected 15 tons of humanitarian aid for Ukraine. GOC Bishop Saba also stated that the day would soon come when the Georgian Church would recognize the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
